Meeting Jimmy Lo Sasso in the 80’s through Fashion & Costume Designer James May during their many appearances on Al Alberts Showcase, I had to share his fascinating career choice with our viewers.
A Delaware County, PA native, Jim Lo Sasso started his career as a commercial artist who turned to makeup full time in the 80’s. Cosmetics, masks and prosthetics for casino shows, TV and magazine ads, even cancer patients. It all started with the Philadelphia Mummers when he won an audition to do clowns for Greater Kensington String Band, from one club to three clubs, then six clubs grew to nine Mummers clubs for award winning make-up. Looks like he’s a ‘secret’ keeper, knowing how the String Bands value the themes be kept under wraps until the big day. From Beauty to Vampires to Special Effects he is now known industry wide from coast to coast.
I’m so happened we connected again through his sister Phyllis Angelucci and Ciao Bella Production Associate Rae Grossi.
Enjoy Jimmy’s fascinating career choice !
